Onimusha Final Boss Guide — Minamoto no Yoshitsune
Minamoto no Yoshitsune is the final boss of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, fought at the end of The Clash at Rendaino — a one-way finale after the point of no return. He tests everything: posture play, Issen timing and your gear.
The Fight
- Bring maxed gear and plenty of healing — there is no shopping trip after the point of no return.
- Expect multi-phase pressure — he chains Issen-check attacks that punish button-mashing.
- Finish all hub content before starting The Clash at Rendaino: after the credits, choosing Continue returns you to just before the final mission, so clean-up is never locked — but the finale itself is one-way.
Boss System Recap
- Break posture first — parrying drains enemy stamina faster than damage; broken posture opens Break Issen.
- White-glowing attacks cannot be Issen’d — parry, deflect or dodge them.
- Landing attacks fills the Blazing Gauge — spend it on Oni Armaments and Oni Awakening for burst phases.
Phase-by-phase breakdowns are being verified as Carnage clears land. For the post-game, see the platinum roadmap. Last updated Sep 18, 2026.
